NISD bowlers win awards at state and all-star tournaments

The 2021-22 high school bowling season has come to an end with Northside teams and individuals winning awards at both the state tournament and District All-Star tournament.

At the state competition, the Brandeis HS girls teams finished in the top 5 and Ayden Howell, Taft HS, and Frances Davila, Health Careers HS, reached the Elite 8 round.

Northside boys and girls teams also competed in the District All-Star Tournament.

Both the Northside District 1 Girls and Northside District 1 Boys teams qualified for the Elite 8. The Northside District 1 Girls team shattered the Texas state record for high 5-person 2-game set.

Frances Davila, Health Careers HS; Ayden Howell, Taft HS; and Natalie Savant, Brandeis HS, earned All-Tournament team recognition.

Northside District 1 Girls team was represented by Desiree Buchert, Taft HS; Frances Davila, Health Careers HS; Miya Greene and Kiley Stephenson, Brennan HS; and Jackie Rangel and Natalie Savant, Brandeis HS.

The Northside District 1 Boys team was represented by Leam Goes, Brennan HS; Aydan Howell and Guadalupe Vasquez, Taft HS; and Benicio Lara, Morgan Stokes, and Jacob Morales, O’Connor HS.
