The NISD Athletic Department is hosting a free event on Thursday, July 25 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for parents, guardians, caregivers, or anyone else needing a bit of inspiration and advice on parenting and helping young people succeed in a changing and challenging world.
The guest speaker will be Carey Casey, the CEO of the National Center for Fathering and the author of “Championship Fathering: How to Win at Being a Dad.” Casey also served as the chaplain for the Summer Olympic Games, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Kansas City Chiefs.
“In this day and age our young people need more support than ever,” says Stan Laing, Executive Director of Athletics for NISD. “We want to do everything we can to support our parents so they can help their child face all the challenges and obstacles sure to come their way.”
“We need to come together as a community to equip parents with the tools needed to serve as positive role models.”
The event will be held at the Northside Sports Gym at 8400 N. Loop 1604W. Reservations are requested. To RSVP, email the athletic office at firstname.lastname@example.org. For additional information, call the Athletics Office at 210-397-7509.
