Northside ISD was included in the latest Forbes magazine annual ranking of “America’s Best Employers.”
Northside is the largest school district in San Antonio and fourth largest in Texas, with almost 14,000 employees, including 7,600 teachers.
The District was ranked 144th on the Forbes list.
“We pride ourselves on not only providing an excellent learning environment for our students, but also creating a culture where our employees feel supported and encouraged to innovate and grow,” said Superintendent Dr. Brian Woods. “Despite our size, it is personal here in Northside and we strive for a family-friendly environment that includes our employees.”
The rankings are based on surveys by market research company Statista which surveyed 30,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 1,000 employees.
Surveys were anonymous, allowing participants to openly share their opinions. The respondents were asked to rate, on a scale of zero to 10, how likely they’d be to recommend their employer to others. Respondents were also asked to nominate organizations in industries outside their own.
The ranking is divided into two lists: one for the top large companies with more than 5,000 U.S. employees, and another for the top midsize companies with 1,000 to 5,000.
San Antonio companies USAA and HEB were ranked on the Forbes list, as well as North East ISD.
