Northside ISD is working to address children’s nutritional needs by opening a campus cafeteria during Thanksgiving Break, Nov. 22-24.

“When school is out, often times kids will go hungry,” said Thomas Wherry, director of Child Nutrition in NISD. “In partnership with the NISD Learning Tree program, our department will offer free breakfast and lunch along with some enrichment programs at a site convenient for parents.”

Free breakfast and lunch will be provided at Pease Middle School with area communities also welcomed. In addition, the NISD Learning Tree will open the gym and have creative art activities available for the families.

Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., with lunch from 11 a.m. to noon. All meals will be served in the cafeteria. Pease Middle School is located at 201 Hunt Lane.
