NISD students awarded Alamo Bowl Scholarships
Fifteen Northside students from 13 high schools were awarded $7,500 Valero Alamo Bowl Student-Athlete Scholarships.
They were recognized at a luncheon Dec. 17 and will also be recognized on the field during the Alamo Bowl football game on Dec. 31.
Seventy five high school students from San Antonio received scholarships this year.
Scholarships were awarded on the basis of academic achievement, teacher recommendations, financial need, involvement in extracurricular activities and varsity sports as well as honors received and a personal narrative.

The Alamo Bowl presents over $1 million dollars to San Antonio high school and college students, the largest scholarship total among all bowl games.
