In coordination with local health officials, NISD has developed a transition plan to guide administrators when planning for those families who have chosen in-person, on campus instruction for their children. The plan was approved by the NISD Board of Trustees on Aug. 18 after communicating with and receiving input from community stakeholders.
When in-person instruction commences, students will return to their campus on a tiered system using specific health metrics based on the real-time local health conditions surrounding COVID-19.
The transition plan outlines protective measures that will remain constant throughout the school year. There are also recommendations based on the level of severity of the pandemic.
This plan is meant to be a living document that will be adjusted based on ongoing data received from the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District.
