Northside ISD needs parent feedback; survey open through Dec. 17

Grappling with aging school infrastructures and much-needed updates and upgrades, around 400 citizens and staff began the important task of identifying facility and other capital needs that could become a school bond proposal in the relatively near future.

The Committee is comprised of representatives from every NISD campus, senior citizens, high school students, and business and community leaders. The Committee will meet through mid-December to discuss new schools, renovations and upgrades of existing facilities, roofing, HVAC and other infrastructure needs, school buses, safety and security enhancements, technology requirements, and fine arts and athletic facility needs.

In addition to this committee, the District is asking all parents to provide their feedback regarding their views on the issues mentioned above.

On Nov. 29, a survey will be emailed to all parents with a current email in the School Messenger application. Parents will be required to sign-in to the survey using their child’s S-number and network password. Each parent is asked to complete the survey. The survey will remain active through Dec. 17.

While no price tag has been recommended nor any election approved by the Board of Trustees, any election would require no tax rate increase.
