The Northside Independent School District will hold a public meeting at 5 p.m. Aug. 18, 2020. Due to health concerns, participation will be limited to a videoconference format using Zoom. A link to the meeting and instructions on public input can be found on the NISD website, www.nisd.net.
The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the school district's budget that will determine the tax rate that will be adopted.
Public participation is invited.
Trustees will consider a tax rate of $1.2857 which is a two cent decrease from the previous year. The proposed tax rate is less than what was projected in School Bond 2014 and Bond 2018.
The proposed tax rate is comprised of two parts: the Maintenance & Operations tax of $0.9502 and the Interest & Sinking tax of $0.3355.
On an average home in Northside, which is valued at $253,992, the annual increase in taxes would be $111.77.
