Student creations will go to the highest bidders

Seniors at Construction Careers Academy have taken on the biggest challenge of their high school careers – designing and building three tiny homes on custom trailers. Now that the transformation is complete, the public is invited to tour the tiny homes at a Community Showcase before they are sold.

As part of the magnet school’s fifth annual Tiny Homes Showcase, students have constructed tiny homes of approximately 224 square feet each.

Two of the tiny homes will be auctioned off on Saturday, May 19 at 1 p.m. The school is also hosting a free Tiny Homes Showcase that same day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The public is invited to tour the homes.

The event also includes a silent auction of student projects including play houses, dog houses, benches, and more.

The tiny homes are all fully functional with utilities, bathrooms, kitchens, sleeping areas, and outdoor space.
