Senior Information

UPDATE: 4-5-2021

In nine short weeks we'll be celebrating the Graduation of the Class of 2021!  It's amazing to think that the end of your time in high school is drawing to a close, but we're excited about the possibilities your futures hold.  As we look toward June 6th, here are some updates along with important senior information: 


*Finishing Strong:

  • Completion of graduation requirements.  All credits required for graduation must be completed and certified by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 3.  If you have not met graduation requirements up to this point, you are at risk of not graduating with the Class of 2021.  Please make sure you are passing all classes and completing necessary attendance recovery for courses you need to graduate.  Schedule a conversation with your counselor and/or administrator if you have questions or concerns about meeting your graduation requirements.


*Graduation Program Scholarship Insert: 

  • Due Date April 16

  • Every year seniors are able to submit the names of scholarships they have earned to be printed as part of the graduation program.  Additionally the number of scholarships earned and submitted is announced at the ceremony along with the name of the scholarship selected by the senior.  Seniors should submit their scholarships asap but no later than Friday Apr. 16 using this link: Senior Scholarship Submissions.  Questions? Call Ms. Vaughn in the College and Career Center at 210-397-4842 or email her  Scholarships submitted after this date may be announced but will not be included in the printed program.


*Announcement of Military Enlistment: 

  • What:  Seniors who will be enlisting in any branch of the military after graduation and who have completed their formal paperwork may have their enlistment announced at graduation.

  • How:  Contact my secretary, Debbie Sherer, at 210-397-4805 or email her at with the information.


*Cap and Gown Pick Up: 

  • Date:  Monday, May 3rd 

  • Time:  Noon-3 p.m.

  • Location: OC Band Practice Pad

*Senior Send-Off: 

  • In lieu of Prom, we will be hosting an event at OC, the Class of 2021 Senior Sunset & Send-Off, on Saturday, May 22 from 5:30-9 p.m.  Save the date for this event being planned exclusively for OC Seniors, and watch for more updates from the Class of 2021. 

*Graduation Rehearsal:  

  • Mandatory senior graduation rehearsal meetings will be held the last two weeks of school. Seniors will be divided into smaller sections for these meetings based on where they will sit at graduation.  Dates and times for each section’s meetings will be forthcoming.  



  • We are excited to celebrate you at your graduation on Sunday, June 6 at 6:30 pm at the Alamodome!  

  • Six tickets will be allotted each graduate for their guests.  Tickets will be available in May.

  • Masks will be required, and other safety protocols will be in place at the event.  

  • The OHS Class of 2021 Graduation will also be live streamed on the NISD website for those unable to attend.


Seniors, we are very proud of all you’ve accomplished this far, but you’re not done!  Keep working hard toward your high school end goals, and know we are here to support you and cheer you on! 



CAP AND GOWN for Graduation

Josten's​, the company who supplies Northside students with graduation merchandise, will be hosting an informational Zoom  for seniors and parents on Jan. 28 at 6 p.m.  Register for the webinar link here: Josten's Meeting Registration.  They will review their process for ordering caps & gowns and other graduation merchandise.​  The meeting will also be recorded for viewing afterward.​​  After the meeting there will be an online option for orders along with a campus in-person opportunity on Feb. 4​  While no dates have been announced for NISD graduation ceremonies yet, we've been told the current plan is to hold the event the week of June 5-11 with the specific schools' dates and a venue to be announced in the near future.

​Additionally any senior who did not take their senior photo on campus may upload their own photo to be included in the yearbook.  Find out more here: Senior Photos & Yearbooks.​
