Principles of Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security Dual (9-10) #8571 (On NISD Campus-check campus for availability)
Introduces students to professions in law enforcement, security, corrections, and fire and emergency management services. Students will examine the roles and responsibilities of police, courts, corrections, private security, and protective agencies of fire and emergency services.

Disaster Response (10-12)#8592
Disaster Response includes basic training of students in disaster survival and rescue skills that would improve the ability of citizens to survive until responders or other assistance could arrive. Students will receive education, training, and volunteer service to make communities safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to the threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues and disasters of all kinds.

Firefighter I (10-12) #8560
Firefighter I introduces students to firefighter safety and development. Students will analyze Texas Commission on Fire Protection rules and regulations, proper incident reporting and records, proper use of personal protections equipment, and the principles of fire safety.

Firefighter II (11-12) #8561
Firefighter II is the second in a series for students studying firefighter safety and development. Students will understand Texas Commission on Fire Protection rules and regulations, proper incident reporting and records, proper use of personal protections equipment, and the principles of fire safety. Students will apply standard procedures for use of fire extinguishers, ladder, fire hose, and water supply apparatus. NISD Volunteer Background Check may be required.
