General Guidelines:

● Students are required to take each exam on the assigned day.

● The exam is 10% of the student’s semester average.

● Per district guidelines, for any student who misses an exam or is absent during the exam period, teachers will enter an “11” for the exam grade and the student must make up the exam to get the “11” removed.

Exam Exemptions:

Students in grades 9-12 are eligible to earn exemptions for each course* if they meet ALL of the criteria below for that course:

1) The student must have a Semester 2 average of 80 or higher in the course AND…

2) For year-long courses, the student must also have a Semester 1 average of 70 or higher in the course AND…

3) The student's conduct grade in that class must be "Satisfactory" or better AND…

4) The student must have 3 or fewer absences (excluding school business absences) starting from March 1st until the end of the second semester in the exempted course AND…

5) The student must still attend class during the scheduled exam time for the course to qualify for the exemption.

STUDENTS SHOULD CONFIRM WITH EACH TEACHER REGARDING EXEMPTION STATUS FOR A COURSE PRIOR TO THE TEST DATE.

*Some dual-credit courses follow the district guidelines for semester exams and others require a semester exam. If a dual credit course requires a semester exam, students cannot be exempt from it.
