Knowlton counselors offer 20-30 minute Guidance Classes for classroom groups once every six days. Lessons for classroom guidance include the following topics:

Educational and Career Planning
Handling Emotions/Managing Conflict
Communication Skills
Counselors also offer individual counseling and small-group counseling with parental consent.

Say what
you mean and mean what you say.
Involve
your child
in solving problems.
Talk less;
do more.
Ask what
happened
to cause misbehavior. Don't say what you think
happened.
Make clear
what
you want. Praise kids when they do it.
Impose
logical consequences
for misbehavior.
Give
choices--but
be sure you can live with them.
Focus on
what's
good about your kids and expect their best.
Show your
love. All children need to know they are loved.
