Attention Parents:

Today (2-3-12) one of our teachers while working outside the building heard what he thought was a gunshot. As a precautionary measure, we immediately directed all students that were outside at lunch time to come into the
building. We did not allow any students to go outside the building for our remaining lunches. Our police department immediately investigated the issue. They did not find any conclusive evidence to substantiate the alleged occurrence.

No doubt you are concerned about the safety and security of the students at John Paul Stevens High School. Rest assured that it is our priority as well. We followed our safety plan and feel confident that the situation was addressed appropriately.

I truly believe that a partnership between you, the parents and community, and the school staff and students will ultimately provide a safe and secure school.

IMPORTANT COURSE CARD INFORMATION: Course Selection for the 2012-2013 School Year is Feb 7-9. Below are the course cards for incoming 9th graders and next years 10-12th grade students. Included is a course catalog. Print the course card and help your student complete it. For your convenience a copy of the course card will be sent home on Feb 2-3. Please go over the course card with your student and return it to class by Feb 7th. Students will input their own courses in the computer labs on Feb 7-9.
