Green Team is an after school club for 3rd-5th grade students that focuses on environmental literacy. Students learn valuable science concepts while gardening, birding, and composting.
Green Team is run as part of a Project ACORN grant and encourages community involvement. Students engage in hands-on activities that teach them about plants, life cycles, biodiversity, and sustainability.
Green Team is in its 3rd year at Westwood Terrace and growing and expanding each year. We currently have 9 garden beds, which include organic vegetables, flowers, and a pollinator bed. We will also be adding a wildflower bed and a birding area this year.
