Mr. Sheldon has been involved in educating children in one form or another since 2005. First teaching music lessons while in college, then touring the country as a guest performer/clinician at many of the country’s higher education institutions, and lastly working as a teacher and administrator in elementary schools. He joined the ranks of Northside in 2010 as a 2nd-grade teacher, served as the Vice-Principal of Wanke Elementary School for the past 8 years, and is now excited to serve the Carnahan community as Associate Principal.
Mr. Sheldon has a bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies (music performance) and a post-baccalaureate degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Texas. He also holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington and most recently acquired a Certification in Applied Positive Psychology from The Flourishing Center in New York City.
A strong supporter of Social-Emotional Learning and the Positive Education movement, Mr. Sheldon has a strong belief in the need to educate the whole child and strives to provide that for his campus and his own three children who all attend Northside Schools.
