Hello Longhorn families! My name is Matt Scherwitz and I am honored to be the Vice Principal at Los Reyes Elementary. This will be the start of my forth year at Los Reyes. The 2023-2024 school year will be my 20th year in education. I began my career in Northside ISD at Thornton Elementary School where I taught Second Grade for seven years and Fourth Grade for two years. After that I was an Admin Intern at Colonies North Elementary for almost 2 years, before I was promoted to Vice Principal. I served as Vice Principal at Colonies North for a little over three years.
I have lived in San Antonio since I was 2 years old. I attended all Northside schools and graduated from John Marshall High School in 2000. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from McMurry University and my Master’s Degree from Schreiner University. I am a huge college football and basketball fan. I attend all UTSA football games. Go Runners! My family is also a volleyball family. My wife and I are always at events watching our daughters play volleyball.
I am looking forward to another year of working with the Los Reyes staff, students, and families. This school year will look very different due to the current pandemic; our goal at Los Reyes remains the same.
At Los Reyes, we ensure the achievement of EVERY student through meaningful relationships, innovative learning and a commitment to excellence.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any suggestions, questions, or concerns.
At Los Reyes we will continue: Celebrating our uniqueness
