The Northside ISD School Board called an election for four Trustee positions to be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015. Seats up for election are Single Member Districts 1 through 4, currently held by George Lynn Britton, Jr., Bennie L. Cole, M’Lissa M. Chumbley, and Robert Blount, Jr., respectively.

In a bold move to better prepare students for studies beyond high school, the Northside ISD Board of Trustees approved $308,000 to pay for the SAT college entrance exam to be offered to all of NISD’s juniors. The test will be administered on Wednesday, April 15. A potential 7,000+ juniors would be tested.

The flu season is upon us. Northside ISD is seeing a small increase in illness outbreaks at some schools, although not all cases are the flu but also are seasonal allergies and colds. NISD has more than 103,000 students in 116 schools.
For 42 years, the Walter Gerlach Livestock Show and Sale has been a Northside ISD tradition that has quietly raised nearly $13 million in college scholarships for students.
