NISD librarians from across the district will be handing out books to students during the Literacy Night Great Book Giveaway to be held Thursday, April 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brennan, Holmes, and O’Connor high schools.
The goal of the Great Book Giveaway is to place new or gently used books into the hands of elementary, middle, and high school students.
Every Pre-K through 12th grade student in a car will receive, at no cost, a bag containing five new and gently used books. High school bands, dancers, and cheerleaders from the three high schools will be there to help give away books and celebrate the joy of reading.
All children are welcome to participate in this event whether they are from Northside ISD or from any district in the surrounding area.
Brennan High School is located at 2400 Cottonwood Way; Holmes High School is at 6500 Ingram Road, and O’Connor High School is located at 12221 Leslie Road. Books will be handed out as long as supplies last.
