Spirit - Dance and Cheer

Pep Squad: Award-winning team that includes students in grade levels 9-12. Students learn the basics of dance and cheer technique and skill. Pep Squad performs halftime at football games, cheers in the stands at football, volleyball, and basketball games. Pep Squad competes at 1-2 competitions in February. Pep Squad performs in a Spring Show in April. Pep Squad also participates in community events around the area. There is no prerequisite for Pep Squad. 

 

Drill Team - Aristocats: Award-winning JV dance team that includes students in grade levels 10-12. Tryouts for this team take place in March. Aristocats perform halftime routines at football games, cheer in the stands at football, volleyball, and basketball games, perform at pep rallies, and perform at a Spurs game halftime show. Aristocats compete at 2 competitions in February. Aristocats perform in a Spring Show in April. Aristocats specializes in Jazz, Pom, and Hip Hop. Aristocats also participate in community events around the area. Prerequisite - 1 year in Pep Squad or UIL extracurricular activity. 

 

Dance Team - Top Cats: A four-time State Champion Varsity dance team that includes students in grade levels 10-12. Tryouts for this team take place in March. Top Cats perform halftime routines at football games, cheer in the stands at football, volleyball, and basketball games, perform at pep rallies, and perform at a Spurs game halftime show. Top Cats compete at 3 competitions in February. Top Cats specialize in Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Lyrical. Top Cats perform in their annual Spring Show in April. Top Cats also participate in community events around the area. Prerequisite - 1 year in Pep Squad or UIL extracurricular activity. 

 

Cheer: Award-winning JV and Varsity Cheer team that includes students in grade levels 10-12. Tryouts for this team take place in March. Cheer leads spirit at pep rallies, football, volleyball, and basketball games. Cheer competes at 3-4 competitions starting November - January. Cheer recently placed 2nd out of 16 teams at NCA National Competition. Cheer trains in tumbling and stunts throughout the year and performs in a Spring Show in April. Cheer also participates in community events around the area. Prerequisite - 1 year in Pep Squad or UIL extracurricular activity.
