  • In groups of 3, students design a solar-powered car to race that fits set parameters

  • Sponsor training will be held in December each year

  • Sponsors teach 8 lessons weekly that lead up to the Race Day event

  • Race Day —a district-wide event held at Gustafson Stadium on a Saturday in late April

This year's levy to fund maintenance and operations expenditures exceeds last year's maintenance and operations tax levy.
Northside Independent School District ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.
THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 1.05 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $30.00.
