purple star campus

The May Elementary School Military Families portal is a comprehensive resource designed to ease the transition for military-connected students and their families joining the Northside Independent School District (NISD). As a designated Purple Star Campus, May Elementary provides specialized support to address the unique challenges of military life, such as frequent relocations and deployments.

The website serves as a central hub for:

  • Direct Support: Connecting parents with the campus Military Family Liaison, Julianne Juárez, and the JBSA-Lackland School Liaison Specialist.
  • Streamlined Transitions: Detailed information on enrollment, registration, and "Proof of Residency" exceptions for active-duty members.
  • Student Engagement: A guide to campus-specific clubs—like "Student to Student" (Greeter Leaders)—designed to help new students build community quickly.
  • Academic & Counseling Resources: Access to specialized counseling groups like "We Serve Too," as well as links to the Military Interstate Children’s Compact Commission (MIC3) to ensure academic credits and extracurricular eligibility are protected during moves.

You can explore these resources and contact the campus liaison directly at May Elementary Military Families.
