New Jordan Middle School Magnet focuses on multimedia and design

Jordan Middle School is the host campus for a new, innovative magnet program specializing in multimedia and design. The Jordan Magnet School offers students an immersive experience in the creative industries through hands-on learning and project-based instruction that integrates both core academics and digital literacy. Students can explore career pathways in Animation, Graphic Design, Audio/Video Production, Commercial Photography, and Fashion Designโ€”all within a state-of-the-art multimedia studio. With options to earn high school credits and take one-of-a-kind Digital Art courses, Jordan Magnet students gain an early college advantage while building real-world skills that prepare them for success in todayโ€™s creative fields.

NISD campuses show love & support for flood victims

Many NISD campuses showed their love and support by wearing green on Aug. 20, the first day of school for students attending Hunt ISD. Pictured are students from Adams Hill and Blattman elementary schools.

Wernli Kindergartners Dress to Impress

Kindergarten students at Wernli Elementary School are learning early that dressing for success is important. According to Kindergarten teacher Bridget Chandler, their lesson for the day featured "some amazing authority figures from our community who inspired the students by sharing real-life examples of diverse careers. We also emphasized dreaming big."

"I want the students to know they can be anything they want to be," she said.

Parent Accounts in Schoology (students in grades 2-12)

Parents who had an account for the 2024-25 school year can still access and use the same account for the 2025-26 school year. If creating a new account, parents will need to obtain the student's access code from the student's teacher. The student access code connects the parent to all their childโ€™s classes. For information on accessing the student access codes in Schoology, click here. For directions on setting up a parent account, click here. This resource is also available on the Schoology Support Site and on the HUB - Instructional Systems Support. For a listing of previous Schoology articles, click here.

Have You Seen the Digital Teacher Toolbox?

Big news! The Academic Technology and Training & Development Departments have teamed up to create a centralized hub for all your digital learning needs. This fantastic new resource is conveniently located on your MyNISD portal, making it easier than ever to access the tools and information you need to enhance your teaching and learning experience. This toolbox will continue to be updated throughout the year. Need more help? Contact your campus TSS or an Academic Technology Coach, (see flyer below)

Mobile DeviceCare Pledge Campaign

As the new year begins, we ask that teachers help students participate in the NISD Mobile Device Care Pledge Campaign. This initiative provides pre-built lessons and presentations to help you educate students on the importance of taking care of their assigned Chromebooks and iPads. These resources are now available to staff at nisd.tech/care. New resources and a brand new student site are also now available at nisd.tech/studentscare.

Technology Services has partnered with all levels across the district to create comprehensive resources for students caring for their district-issued devices. These materials are designed to help students understand the importance of being responsible stewards and take ownership of their learning tools by handling Chromebooks and iPads with care to prolong their lifespan, reduce the incidents of accidental damage through increased awareness and responsible behavior, and create a culture of respect and care for technology in our school community.

By working together, we can ensure our devices remain in excellent working condition and that our students are well-prepared for a year of learning and growth. Thank you for your continued partnership!
