Catching Up With Craft: A Special End of Year Message

2026-27 District Theme Announced

Northside: Driven With Purpose reflects who we are and what guides us every day as a school district.

At Northside, everything we do is intentional. We are driven by a clear commitment to student success, meaningful relationships, and a shared vision for excellence. Our educators, staff, students, and families all play a role in creating learning environments where every decision is rooted in purpose—whether it’s supporting academic growth, fostering creativity, or preparing students for life beyond the classroom.

This theme highlights the heart behind our work. It’s not just about moving forward—it’s about moving forward with direction, passion, and integrity. From the classroom to the community, Northside is focused on making an impact that matters.

Being Driven with Purpose means:

  • Putting students at the center of every decision
  • Leading with intention and accountability
  • Inspiring growth, innovation, and opportunity
  • Building a strong, supportive community

Together, we are not just achieving goals—we are shaping futures with purpose.

More Than Bikes: Building Confidence and Connection

Students across Northside ISD are rolling into fun and newfound independence thanks to a generous gift from the Believe It Foundation! More than a dozen campuses received adaptive bikes, giving students with physical challenges the chance to ride, play, and connect with friends on the playground like never before.

This incredible donation is opening doors to confidence, inclusion, and joy—one ride at a time. A big thank-you to the Believe It Foundation for helping our students jump right into the game, and to the Grants and Recognition Department and Lead Adapted Physical Education Specialist Shawn Settles for bringing this opportunity to life!

HELPFUL RESOURCES

Staff Devices - What to do with your device(s)!

As we wrap up another successful school year, please take a moment to review the checkout procedures for your assigned technology. Following these steps ensures your workspace is ready for action when we return for next school year!

Classroom Laptops: Please remember that the classroom laptops (ES only) must remain in your classrooms throughout the summer break. These devices serve as the designated teacher workstations within your classroom. Please note: if your classroom laptop is removed from campus, you will not have a dedicated workstation available on the first day of the new school year.

Teacher Mobile Devices: You have been issued a separate mobile device (e.g., laptop, Chromebook, or iPad) for use during the school year and for summer professional development and planning. The guidelines for your mobile device (laptop, Chromebook, or iPad) depend on your plans for the upcoming year:

  • Returning to the same campus next year, and assigned a Chromebook or iPad: You will keep your assigned mobile device over the summer.
  • Returning to Northside next year, potentially at a different campus, and assigned a Chromebook or iPad: You will keep your assigned mobile device over the summer.
  • Returning to Northside next year, potentially at a different campus, and assigned a laptop as your mobile device: Please return your assigned laptop to your TSS before your last day, May 22nd.
  • Retiring or Resigning from Northside: Please return your assigned mobile device(s) to your TSS on or before your last day, May 22nd.

We appreciate your cooperation in following these guidelines for classroom laptops and mobile devices as we prepare for a successful summer and the upcoming school year!

CELEBRATIONS

Young Leaders Shine Across NISD Campuses

Students from eight NISD campuses have been named 2025–26 Student Leadership Award recipients by the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA). Representing Blattman, Carnahan, Esparza, Helotes, Lieck, May, Ott, and Scobee elementary schools, these students are being recognized for their outstanding leadership and service on their campuses.

The prestigious award honors PK–8 student leadership teams that make a meaningful impact in their school communities. Throughout the year, these young leaders led a variety of initiatives, including promoting literacy, organizing kindness campaigns, honoring teachers, staff, and veterans, mentoring younger students, boosting school spirit, and supporting local families and organizations.

“Texas public schools play a crucial role in shaping the leaders of tomorrow,” said TEPSA Executive Director Harley Eckhart. “These students are not only active participants but also trailblazers for positive change in their schools and communities.”

The students will be recognized this fall at TEPSA’s Student Leadership Workshops, where their achievements will be celebrated alongside peers from across the state.

AROUND THE DISTRICT

A Cultural Journey Comes Alive at Valley Hi

Valley Hi students were treated to a performance about India, sponsored by Musical Bridges Around the World. Students experienced a vibrant cultural performance, captivated by the sounds of the sitar and the graceful movements of a traditional Kathak dance.

This interactive presentation offered students an engaging opportunity to explore the music and dance of India in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The experience beautifully blended Social Studies cultural learning with the Fine Arts, all set within the welcoming space of the Valley Hi Library.
