The Passmore Project ACORN Garden Club helps capture our students' love of gardening in our own "urban gardens" here on campus. The club received funding through the Texas Department of Agriculture to expand our combination gardens of fresh food (vegetables) and native plants (pollinator friendly) so all teachers can use these areas for inquiry-based science and nutrition lessons. We will host a Spring family event to share our harvest and demonstrate how to install gardens at home. This year we received additional funding to participate in Project FeederWatch under the Cornell Lab or Ornithology, as well as install bird feeders, learn proper use of binoculars, and participate in a field experience at Mitchell Lake on March 27th.
