STEM Education in Northside ISD
Northside ISD’s STEM Education program provides students with hands-on, real-world learning experiences that integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Through inquiry-based instruction, problem solving, and design thinking, students develop critical thinking and collaboration skills that prepare them for future academic and career success.
At the elementary level, each campus has a dedicated STEM lab where students participate in activities and design challenges that spark curiosity and creativity using knowledge from classroom instruction and tied to a variety of STEM careers.

In STEM kindness and innovation go hand in hand!
Our goal is to create a fun and safe place for kids to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art/Design, and Math. Learners get to experience incredible STEM teamwork opportunities through the 4 Cs: Creativity, Collaboration, Critical thinking, and Communication. Many of the challenges learners face on STEM Island teach them how to F.I.O. (Figure It Out), so that they can have a positive growth mindset when they discover they are struggling. Knowing that these mistakes and challenges we face are a puzzle to be solved brings the learner’s perspective from an “I can't!”...to...“I can’t YET!” Innovators will learn about the design process, robotics, coding, architectural engineering, aerospace engineering, bio-med, environmental science, and more. STEM Island is a great place to be if you are looking for igniting inquiry, and increasing the love of learning. By giving learners the opportunity to discover all of the incredible careers that are out there, and the chance to explore their own interest, we can help to inspire kids to be anything they want to be!
