The Strings program at Beard Elementary is a great place for 5th grade students who are interested in learning a musical instrument. Classes meet 2 times a week after school and the program is completely free! The strings program is taught by Danica Murphy, a certified music teacher specializing in string instrument and she is also the Orchestra Director for Garcia Middle School. String students can expect to learn the fundamentals in string playing and note reading, no prior experience is needed for this class!
