Chaisleigh Southworth - Principal
Welcome to Blattman Elementary - Home of the Black Bears!
I had the amazing opportunity to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Education while studying in Australia. I later earned two Master’s degrees in Education, one focus being on Educational Technology and the other degree being in Educational Leadership. My love for learning and growing continues to this day, as I am working on currently completing my doctoral program at UTSA. It keeps me busy, but I wouldn’t want it any other way!
I have experience teaching Kindergarten - 8th grade and have taught most of those different grade levels over the past 22 years in education. I have taught in Australia, Alabama and Texas throughout my career and bring a variety of experiences and expertise. My teaching career in Northside started in opening Nichols elementary and later moved to Beard Elementary. Michael Elementary is where I served as a Vice Principal for 3 years and then I had the privilege of serving as Principal at Fernandez Elementary for the last 5 years. It is my pleasure and honor to be serving you as the Principal at Blattman Elementary!
My guiding light when making all decisions for our students is to consider “what’s best for kids”. My focus is to always make child centered decisions for all our students at Blattman. Whether it be related to safety and health or academics and student achievement, I believe every child deserves the very best we can give them as educators…….Why?? ….because they deserve it!! Our children are our future!!
