My name is Lisa Mendez, and it is an honor to serve as the principal of Carson Elementary. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving this extraordinary school community and to strengthen the connections we share with our students, staff, and families.
My educational journey began in SAISD as a fourth-grade teacher. After two years, I joined NISD, where I have had the privilege of serving as a third-grade teacher, Administrator Intern, and Associate Principal. I earned my bachelorโs degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of the Incarnate Word and my masterโs degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
From my first experiences at Carson, it was clear that this campus thrives on a strong sense of community and an unwavering commitment to excellence. I share this dedication and will work tirelessly to ensure every student learns in a safe, nurturing environment where their individual needs are met. I am eager to continue the special traditions that make Carson unique, while also creating new opportunities for growth and success.
My door is always open, and I welcome your conversations, ideas, and input. Above all, my priority will always be keeping students at the heart of every decision we make. I look forward to the years ahead as we celebrate our shared successes and continue to make Carson an unstoppable place for learning.
The Associate Principal also serves as the Campus Behavior Coordinator. They can be reached by email at jennifer.delarosa01@nisd.net or by phone at 210-397-1115.
I am honored to serve as the Associate Principal at Carson Elementary! Prior to joining the Carson family, I proudly served as the Associate Principal at McAndrew Elementary for four years. My journey in education began in the classroom, where I've taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade. Iโve had the privilege of serving the Northside community for the past 15 years. My passion for learning, kids, and collaborative teamwork naturally led me into school leadership. I firmly believe when staff, students, and families work together, amazing things happen. Let's make it a great year, Cowboys!
