Students will collect, sort, and organize data to create picture and bar-type graphs to draw conclusions and generate and answer questions.

Students will solve problems involving addition and subtraction; recognize situations involving addition and subtraction; develop and use efficient, accurate, and generalizable methods to add and subtract and use this knowledge to solve problems.

Students will count and represent quantities and collections fluently to 99. Students will use place value to interpret numbers as groups of tens and ones.

Students will count, represent, compare, and order quantities and collections fluently to 120.

Students will use base-10 place value to interpret numbers as groups of hundreds, tens, and ones.

Unit Title

Unit 12: Time and Linear Measurement

Unit 13: Personal Financial Literacy

Time

14 Days

4 Days

Understandings

Students will tell time to the half hour by making connections between one-half of a circle and one-half of the face of an analog clock.

Students will understand the fractional language of time as they become proficient with telling time to the half hour on both analog and digital clocks.

Students will explore the continuous nature of linear measure by using concrete, non-standard measuring tools to measure the length of objects.

Students will define money earned as income, identify income as a means of obtaining goods and services, distinguish between wants and needs and between spending and saving, and consider charitable giving.
