Gold Card
If you are over 65 years old and live in Northside ISD or are a retired NISD employee, you may be eligible to receive the Northside Gold Card.

Each year, six alumni are selected as Pillars of Character from among the District’s thousands of high school graduates since 1951. They represent the traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.

A small group of retired NISD educators began to informally meet and discuss ways to save the district’s history. Over time, the group formally organized and began to make plans for creating a School Museum.

Community members may nominate individuals to be considered as namesakes for elementary and middle schools and special facilities. High schools are named for United States Supreme Court Justices.
Military Families
Currently, more than 7,000 children with parents who are connected to the military attend schools in the Northside Independent School District. Led by the efforts of school counselors, NISD school communities work diligently to support military families and address their unique educational challenges.
