Independent Study Mentorship (ISM) Program

Northside’s ISM program pairs juniors and seniors with real-world mentors in fields ranging from medicine and engineering to tattoo artistry and construction. Students gain hands-on experience, refine career interests, and build professional connections, setting the stage for college and beyond.

Even Start Family Literacy Program

Northside’s Even Start program empowers families by teaching English and essential skills while providing early childhood education. Parents and children learn together, fostering growth and confidence. Many participants go on to pursue jobs and further education, proving that a little support can transform entire families.

 

Folks MS Stallion Daily Grind

Students in the ALE program at Folks Middle School run “The Stallion Daily Grind,” a mobile coffee shop serving teachers and staff. From baristas to delivery drivers, each student plays a role, gaining hands-on experience in customer service and job skills. Proceeds support a special field trip, making every cup served a step toward new opportunities.

 

Bernal MS Student 2 Student

Bernal Middle School’s S2S program pairs new students, many from military families, with trained peer mentors to ensure no one feels alone. The program has grown to over 225 members, fostering connections through activities like "Friendly Fridays."

 

Health Careers Pink Out Day

Students at Health Careers High School raised breast cancer awareness with a lively Pink Love Dance, celebrating survivors on campus. The event united the school community and inspired others to support the cause.

 

Brandeis Student Saves Life

Leah Carlin’s choking emergency was swiftly handled by her bandmate Miguel Gonzalez, who saved her using skills learned in health class. This life-saving act highlights the importance of education in emergency situations.
