Burke Bear Bites
Special education students at Burke Elementary are learning business and life skills through Burke Bear Bites, a student-run taco delivery service for campus staff. From preparing orders to handling money and making deliveries, students build communication, responsibility, and confidence while raising funds for classroom materials and sensory items.
Pet Vet Summer Camp
Northside’s Community Education program offers summer youth camps for interests ranging from art and science to dance, cheer, and more. Through hands-on activities like Pet Vet Camp, kids explore new skills, discover potential careers, make friends, and stay engaged while having fun all summer long.
Rising Stars Summer Musical
Northside’s Rising Stars program brings together students from Title I schools for an intensive two-week theater experience. Working alongside professional directors, choreographers, and musicians, students build confidence, develop performance skills, and form lasting friendships while bringing a full musical production to life.
Beard ES Teacher Wins Trinity Prize
Beard Elementary third-grade teacher Selena Sweeney was surprised in front of her students with the prestigious Trinity Prize for Excellence in Teaching. The award recognizes outstanding educators in the San Antonio area and celebrates Sweeney’s 22 years of dedication, inspiration, and impact in the classroom.
