Mary Hull Elementary’s annual Red Ribbon Parade brings together nearly a thousand students, families, and community partners to promote a positive message: say no to drugs. With colorful characters, longtime traditions, and generations returning to celebrate, the event unites the community in fun, pride, and healthy living.

 

Colonies North Parade of Nations

Colonies North Elementary celebrates its annual Parade of Nations! Students from 29 countries shared their cultures through music, dance, and traditions, giving the community a glimpse of the diversity and talent at NISD.

Kuentz Elementary STEM teacher Karen Connor was surprised with a KENS5 EXCEL Award honoring her dedication and impact in the classroom. With cheers, tears, and even a check from Credit Human, the moment celebrated a teacher who inspires creativity and makes learning fun for her students.

 

Learning Tree Senior Employment Program

Holmes High School senior Sariah Arispa balances prom plans with a paid role mentoring younger students through the Learning Tree program. High school seniors gain real classroom experience, develop leadership skills, and explore careers in education while making a meaningful impact on younger learners.

Dad & Child Engagement Event

Northside’s Even Start Dad and Child event brings families together for a day of bonding, learning, and fun. Fathers and father figures from across the community spend quality time building connections that support student success, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging.

 

Coach Eddie Solis: Unstoppable

Harlan High School’s head football coach, Eddie Solis, is known for building more than a winning program—he builds character. After being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, Coach Solis continued to lead with faith and perseverance, inspiring his team and community with a powerful story of resilience and hope.
