STEM Students collaborating in the classroom

STEM Education in Northside ISD

Northside ISD’s STEM Education program provides students with hands-on, real-world learning experiences that integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Through inquiry-based instruction, problem solving, and design thinking, students develop critical thinking and collaboration skills that prepare them for future academic and career success.

At the elementary level, each campus has a dedicated STEM lab where students participate in activities and design challenges that spark curiosity and creativity using knowledge from classroom instruction and tied to a variety of STEM careers.

Welcome to the Driggers STEM Lab!
I am the STEM Teacher, Mrs. Aguiar.

STEM is part of the Discovery rotation. Students come to STEM once every 8 school days. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. STEM integrates these different subject areas and TEKS into a cohesive, hands-on learning model in Inquiry-Based Learning.

In STEM, students collaborate with peers as they work through the design process: ask, imagine, create (test), collaborate, and improve their design challenges while working toward a goal.

Student Goals for the Program
