Attendance & Class Schedule

Classes at Chavez Excel Academy begin at 7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday.

The school is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and all Northside ISD holidays.
 

Attendance Requirements

Students enrolled at Chavez Excel Academy must:

  • Attend a minimum of four consecutive hours per day
  • Attend five days per week
  • Sign in by 10:00 a.m. Monday through Friday

Students are encouraged to attend more than the minimum required hours whenever possible.
 

Flexible Scheduling

The flexible schedule is designed to remove barriers that may prevent students from participating in a traditional school schedule and to provide opportunities for academic success.
 

Important Attendance Policies

  • Students who do not complete the required four consecutive hours will be counted absent for that day.
  • Excessive absences may result in dismissal from Chavez Excel Academy and guidance toward a more appropriate educational setting.

Tax Rate Notice
This year's levy to fund maintenance and operations expenditures exceeds last year's maintenance and operations tax levy.
Northside Independent School District ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.
THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 1.05 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $30.00.
