Strings is a program provided to our 5th graders by Northside ISD Fine Arts Department. This program allows students that are interested in learning how to play a string instrument to participate in beginner classes. It takes place throughout the entire year with 2 performances, one in December, and one at the end of the year in May demonstrating all the students have learned on their instruments. Majority of the students choose the violin as their instrument, but cello is usually offered as well. All classes are free to the students and provided by NISD. The student is responsible for providing their instrument and the book used in lessons. Instruments can be rented at an affordable price from several of the local music stores.
