Howdy Hatchett Hurricanes!

My name is Tania Santacruz Perez and I am absolutely thrilled to join this wonderful school community as your newest school counselor! This year, Iโ€™ll be working with Pre-K, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade students. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M Universityโ€“Kingsville and a Master of Arts in Counseling and Guidance. I bring 16 years of experience in education; 10 years as an elementary classroom teacher and now beginning my 7th year as a school counselor.

As a counselor, my goal is to support the academic, social/emotional, and career development of all students. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused strategies to help students build confidence, resilience, and essential life skills. My mission is to help every student recognize their strengths and realize their full potential, both in and out of the classroom. Iโ€™m honored to serve the Hatchett community and look forward to a FANTASTIC year ahead!

My name is Ron Pierce, and I am passionate about motivating students to reach their full potential. I hold a Bachelor

of Science in General Studies from The University of Texas-Pan American and a Master of Education in School Counseling

from Lamar University. With 15 years of experience in education, I have spent 13 years as a special education teacher, and

this is my third year as a school counselor. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, listening to audiobooks,

composing music, and exercising.
