Howdy Hatchett Hurricanes!
My name is Tania Santacruz Perez and I am absolutely thrilled to join this wonderful school community as your newest school counselor! This year, Iโll be working with Pre-K, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade students. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M UniversityโKingsville and a Master of Arts in Counseling and Guidance. I bring 16 years of experience in education; 10 years as an elementary classroom teacher and now beginning my 7th year as a school counselor.
As a counselor, my goal is to support the academic, social/emotional, and career development of all students. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused strategies to help students build confidence, resilience, and essential life skills. My mission is to help every student recognize their strengths and realize their full potential, both in and out of the classroom. Iโm honored to serve the Hatchett community and look forward to a FANTASTIC year ahead!
