In first grade students will develop and sustain foundational language skills. They will go from beginning readers to fluent readers by the end of the year. They will learn to write stories across genres with a focus on mechanics of print and craft. First graders will gain a strong understanding of number sense through computation and problem solving skills. We hope to build a sense of community and encourage leadership skills. Weekly newsletters are digitally sent out to keep families informed of current learning goals.
