Greg Dylla - Principal
Having served this campus for the past 15 years, I have had the privilege of watching our school community grow, celebrate successes, and overcome challenges together. I am honored to continue this journey in a new role and look forward to partnering with you to make this our best year yet.

As we begin this school year, we have much to celebrate. Our students have demonstrated remarkable growth and achieved higher levels of academic success. These accomplishments reflect the hard work of our scholars, the dedication of our teachers and staff, and the unwavering support of our families.

While we celebrate these achievements, we also remain focused on continuous improvement. Our mission is rooted in the belief that every scholar can learn, grow, and achieve at high levels. We are committed to providing engaging instruction, meaningful learning opportunities, and the support each student needs to reach their full potential.

This year, our focus will be on ensuring that every student continues to grow academically while increasing the number of scholars who meet and master grade-level expectations. We believe excellence is achieved through high expectations, strong relationships, and a shared commitment between home and school.
Parents and families are essential partners in our students' success. Together, we can create a learning environment where every child feels valued, challenged, and inspired to reach new heights.

Thank you for your continued trust, partnership, and commitment to our school. I am excited about all that we will accomplish together and cannot wait to see our scholars learn, grow, and shine throughout the year.

Here's to an incredible school year filled with learning, growth, and success for every scholar!

My name is Dr. Marian Johnson, and I am honored and humbled to serve as an Associate Principal at William P. Hobby Middle School. I am deeply passionate about education and committed to fostering a positive school culture centered on strong relationships with students, staff, families, and the community.

Throughout my career in education, I have had the privilege of collaborating with diverse groups of educators, students, and stakeholders to achieve the common goal of increasing student achievement and overall well-being. These experiences have reinforced my belief that every student can succeed when provided with a positive learning environment, strong and knowledgeable leadership, a dedicated educational team, an encouraging community, and supportive families.

My educational philosophy is grounded in the unwavering belief that all students can learn and thrive when these essential elements are in place. I am proud to be part of the Hobby Middle School family, where these values are evident every day. Together, we are committed to empowering students to reach their fullest potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

    Academic Dean

I am so thrilled to introduce myself as your new Academic Dean! Entering my 18th year in education, this role feels extra special to me—as a proud product of NISD (having attended Braun Station, Stevenson MS, and O’Connor High School), serving this community is truly coming home.

Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles, including English teacher, AVID teacher, Student Success Advisor, ESL teacher, District High School ESL Specialist, and most recently, District PK–12 Newcomer Program Coordinator. Through it all, my greatest passions remain instructional coaching, a love of lifelong learning, and—above all—supporting and uplifting the educators and students around me.

Outside of school, my husband and I are busy raising our three beautiful daughters and caring for the animals on our little farm. I am so excited to partner with each of you this year and can’t wait for a fantastic school year ahead!
