Hobby Middle School Summer Reading 2026
A Community of Readers
At Hobby Middle School, we believe reading helps students grow, explore new ideas, and have fun! Summer Reading is REQUIRED for all Advanced ELA students, and all other students are strongly encouraged to participate to strengthen reading skills and discover books they enjoy.
Students may choose books that are a comfortable challenge and match their interests. Reading choices may include:
- Novels
- Books in verse
- Informational books
- Graphic novels
- Audiobooks
There are no required summer assignments or projects. During the first grading period of the new school year, Advanced ELA students will receive a grade and/or extra credit connected to the book they selected for summer reading.
