Dear Howsman Families,
I hope you and your family are safe and doing well after today's severe weather. As we look ahead to brighter days and prepare for an exciting new school year, I have a few important updates I'd like to share with you.
I am pleased to share the first edition of our school newsletter, Howsman Happenings. Inside, you'll find important back-to-school dates, upcoming events, and information to help your family prepare for the new school year. We will continue updating this newsletter with additional information and reminders as we get closer to the first day of school, so be sure to check back regularly for the latest updates.

I hope you'll join me for Popsicles with the Principal on Friday, July 31, from 4:30–5:30 p.m. This will be a wonderful opportunity for us to meet before the school year begins! I look forward to getting to know our Howsman families while you enjoy a FREE ice pop (while supplies last), explore our new blacktop area and basketball courts, and connect with other members of our school community.
Our students will also have the opportunity to help name our newly updated Howsman Eagle! During the event, students may complete a name submission form, suggesting a name for our eagle and sharing why they believe it represents Howsman. I encourage students to think of names that reflect the qualities of a Howsman Eagle—leadership, courage, kindness, perseverance, school pride, and excellence.
During the first week of school, our students will vote to select the official name of our mascot. I can't wait to see all of the creative ideas they come up with!
I also want to let you know that our school offices are now open. If you need assistance before the school year begins, we are happy to help. Please note that due to ongoing construction, all visitors should use the parking lot located on Vance Jackson Road when visiting the school.
I am so excited to begin this school year with you and your children. I look forward to meeting many of you and kicking off what I know will be an incredible year at Howsman!

Espero que usted y su familia se encuentren seguros y bien después del mal tiempo del día de hoy. Mientras esperamos días más soleados y nos preparamos para un emocionante nuevo ciclo escolar, quiero compartir con ustedes algunos avisos importantes.
Me da mucho gusto compartir con ustedes la primera edición de nuestro boletín escolar, Howsman Happenings. En él encontrarán fechas importantes para el regreso a clases, próximos eventos e información que les ayudará a prepararse para el nuevo ciclo escolar. Continuaremos actualizando este boletín con información adicional y recordatorios conforme se acerque el primer día de clases, así que los invitamos a consultarlo con frecuencia para conocer las últimas novedades.

Espero que puedan acompañarme en Paletas con la Directora el viernes 31 de julio, de 4:30 a 5:30 p. m. Será una excelente oportunidad para conocernos antes del inicio del ciclo escolar. Me encantará convivir con nuestras familias de Howsman mientras disfrutan de una paleta GRATIS (hasta agotar existencias), conocen nuestra nueva área de concreto y las canchas de baloncesto, y conviven con otros miembros de nuestra comunidad escolar.
¡Nuestros estudiantes también tendrán la oportunidad de ayudar a ponerle nombre a nuestra renovada Águila de Howsman! Durante el evento podrán completar un formulario de participación para proponer un nombre para nuestra águila y compartir una breve explicación de por qué consideran que representa a Howsman. Los animo a pensar en un nombre que refleje las cualidades de un Águila de Howsman: liderazgo, valentía, amabilidad, perseverancia, orgullo escolar y excelencia.
Durante la primera semana de clases, nuestros estudiantes votarán para elegir el nombre oficial de nuestra mascota. ¡Estoy muy emocionada por conocer todas sus increíbles ideas!
También quiero informarles que nuestras oficinas ya están abiertas. Si necesitan apoyo antes del inicio del ciclo escolar, con gusto estaremos disponibles para atenderles. Debido a la construcción que continúa en nuestro plantel, les pedimos que utilicen el estacionamiento ubicado sobre Vance Jackson al visitar la escuela.
Estoy muy emocionada de comenzar este nuevo ciclo escolar junto con ustedes y sus hijos. Espero tener la oportunidad de conocer a muchas de nuestras familias y dar inicio, juntos, a un extraordinario año escolar en Howsman.
