Dave JohnstonDirectorDave Johnston taught middle school mathematics in South Texas for five years before moving to Northside, where he taught at Luna Middle School for 12 years. Dr. Johnston worked for several years in Northside's Curriculum and Instruction department as an Instructional Support Teacher, working with teachers across Northside's 21 middle schools. He initially provided academic technology curriculum support and later worked alongside math teachers who provide special education services. He is now proud to serve as Director of Jones STEM Magnet Middle School.
Dr. Johnston holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Texas A&M, a Masters of Education in Administration from Lamar University and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Tech University.
He and his wife are caretakers for two nieces and a nephew who are products of Northside schools.
