Magnet Parent Meeting - August 26, 6-7PM
We are hosting our fall parent meeting on Tuesday, August 26, in the Jones MS cafeteria from 6-7PM. This optional meeting will address:
- Volunteer opportunities for parents, including field trips.
- The role of our campus counseling team and their annual "guidance lessons."
- Magnet student responsibilities and expectations.
- The magnet program curriculum and "design challenges."

Parent Volunteers & Field Trip Chaperone Information
We have a 7th grade field trip to the Toyota Manufacturing Plant scheduled for September, and we need volunteer chaperones.
Magnet students attend several off-campus field trips throughout the school year, including locations such as Edwards Aquifer, the Toyota manufacturing plant, and the Witte Museum. We rely on the help of parent volunteers to serve as chaperones to make these trips run smoothly. We invite parents and guardians to sign up for the opportunity to join our trips as chaperones.
Chaperones will travel with the group and be assigned a small group of about 10 students (including their own student) to monitor during the trip.
Chaperones must successfully complete a Volunteer Background Check through NISD. Background checks must be resubmitted each school year.
If you are interested in applying to join us as a chaperone this school year, please:
- Be sure you have submitted a Northside ISD Volunteer Background Check online
- Complete the Jones Magnet Chaperone Sign-Up Form online
As field trip opportunities arise, our office will reach out to eligible volunteers.
T-Shirt Sales
The STEM office sells t-shirts for $10 cash. Multiple designs and sizes are available.
