Jones STEM Events
Jones STEM Magnet Roller Skate Party - Mar 3
Current and incoming magnet families are invited to a Roller Skating Party at Skateland West on March 3, from 6-8PM. Skaters pay $7 at the door. Non-skating parents are free. Everyone is welcome!
Jay Science & Engineering Academy STEAMfest - March 21
Jay Science & Engineering Academy is hosting their annual STEAMfest on Saturday, March 21. This free, family friendly event is at the Jay HS campus from 10:00 - 1:00. There are always lots of exciting activities. Come look for the Jones STEM table!
Jones STEM Women in STEM Expo
Everyone is invited to our Women in STEM Expo at Jones Middle School in recognition of Women's Month.
We will have activities and presenters focused on ALL students from grades 3-8. The event will be on the Jones campus from 5:30-7 PM on March 24. We will have a variety of activities and make-and-takes. Family and community members are welcome!
Community Events
UT Engineering FREE Summer Camp
The University of Texas at Austin partners with Jay Science and Engineering Academy to provide a FREE Engineering Camp for current 7th and 8th grade students. This year's camp will be held on the Jones Middle School campus July 20-23. Seats for this camp are limited, so interested students are encouraged to apply early. The camp operates from 8:30-4:00 each day, and free lunch is provided. Students will participate in a wide range of engineering projects, guided by staff from the University of Texas at Austin.

UTSA Invites Families to Day of Discovery!
UTSA is inviting families to participate in the UT San Antonio Day of Discovery, an engaging career exploration event designed for middle school students and their families. This event will allow students to explore various career paths, discover their interests, and learn about the wide array of opportunities available to them in the future.
Event Details:
- Date: Saturday, March 28th 2026
- Time: 9:30am-2:30pm
- Location: UT San Antonio Main Campus - One UTSA Circle, San Antonio TX 78249 (Student Union)
At the Day of Discovery, they are offering sessions specifically catered to the five high school endorsement pathways outlined by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
Additional Information:
- Select sessions will be available in Spanish
- Free shuttle service will be available from the UT San Antonio Downtown Campus
- Lunch will be provided to event participants
- The event will include a resource fair and prize drawings
