Welcome to Jack C. Jordan Middle School. My name is Shannon Zavala, and I am the Associate Principal at Jordan.
I am a proud Texas A&M Aggie with a degree in Biomedical Science, but my love of students and teaching led me to get a Masters in Education Leadership so that I can lead teachers who love to teach kids as much as I do. My entire educational career has been at the middle school level, and I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science, math, and ELA. I coached for five years, and I was a Gifted and Talented Specialist. I believe that all kids have the ability to learn and grow each and every day. I strive to create a positive experience of high quality learning for our Jaguars by building partnerships with our families and community so that they have a strong start to their teen and young adult lives.

Welcome to Jack C. Jordan Middle School. My name is Dr. Toby Castillo Walters. As the Academic Dean at Jordan Middle School, I am proud to serve the students, teachers, and families. In this role, I help lead and support the academic success of all students by implementing strong instructional practices, working closely with teachers to build their capacity, and ensuring our campus remains focused on effective teaching and learning through a strong academic program.
Before joining Northside ISD, I began my career in education at San Antonio ISD as an elementary school Dual Language Clinical Teacher. I taught middle school English and coached soccer in South San Antonio ISD. Most recently, I served in Southwest ISD as a high school English teacher and soccer coach before becoming an instructional coach
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and Master’s in Bilingual Education from Texas A&M University-San Antonio. I later earned my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University–Kingsville.
