Welcome to Jack C. Jordan Middle School. My name is Shannon Zavala, and I am the Associate Principal at Jordan.

I am a proud Texas A&M Aggie with a degree in Biomedical Science, but my love of students and teaching led me to get a Masters in Education Leadership so that I can lead teachers who love to teach kids as much as I do.  My entire educational career has been at the middle school level, and I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science, math, and ELA.  I coached for five years, and I was a Gifted and Talented Specialist.  I believe that all kids have the ability to learn and grow each and every day.  I strive to create a positive experience of high quality learning for our Jaguars by building partnerships with our families and community so that they have a strong start to their teen and young adult lives.

Darcia Borel
Assistant Principal

Greetings! My name is Darcia Borel.

My education includes an undergraduate degree in Child Life from
the University of Alabama, a Master of Education degree in Elementary Education, and a Specialist
degree in Educational Leadership, both from Nova Southeastern University.
I began my career in K-12 education as a kindergarten teacher. From there, I had the good
fortune to serve as a teacher leader, district leader and administration at both the elementary and
middle school levels.
My leadership philosophy is based on a shared vision for achievement, allowing all stakeholders to
contribute their time, strengths, and talents toward the success of the school, while assisting in
establishing a family-based culture.
I wholeheartedly believe that all students deserve a safe and nurturing environment that will allow them
to grow personally and academically.
