Welcome to Jack C. Jordan Middle School. My name is Shannon Zavala, and I am the Associate Principal at Jordan.

I am a proud Texas A&M Aggie with a degree in Biomedical Science, but my love of students and teaching led me to get a Masters in Education Leadership so that I can lead teachers who love to teach kids as much as I do.  My entire educational career has been at the middle school level, and I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science, math, and ELA.  I coached for five years, and I was a Gifted and Talented Specialist.  I believe that all kids have the ability to learn and grow each and every day.  I strive to create a positive experience of high quality learning for our Jaguars by building partnerships with our families and community so that they have a strong start to their teen and young adult lives.

    Assistant Principal

Hello Jaguar Community! I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal of Jack C. Jordan Middle School.  Education is a life-long journey and I am privileged to foster and inspire that commitment with our leaders of tomorrow.

I am a proud graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio where I obtained my Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting.  As I transitioned my career into Career and Technical Education (CTE), I obtained my Masters of Education in Administration from Lamar University.

I have been in education for 13 years where I served as a CTE educator, department chair, principal of summer school, basketball and tennis coach, yearbook coordinator, RTI facilitator, and teacher mentor in Harlandle ISD.  I then joined Northside ISD in 2021 as a Student Service Facilitator assisting in Section 504, course protection, attendance recovery, campus testing, and other student support services.

I am happily married to my high school sweet heart and blessed with two amazing boys.  Our family also enjoys the benefits of two dogs, lots of travel, and any swimming or basketball outings our boys are signed up for.
