Welcome to Jack C. Jordan Middle School. My name is Shannon Zavala, and I am the Associate Principal at Jordan.

I am a proud Texas A&M Aggie with a degree in Biomedical Science, but my love of students and teaching led me to get a Masters in Education Leadership so that I can lead teachers who love to teach kids as much as I do.  My entire educational career has been at the middle school level, and I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science, math, and ELA.  I coached for five years, and I was a Gifted and Talented Specialist.  I believe that all kids have the ability to learn and grow each and every day.  I strive to create a positive experience of high quality learning for our Jaguars by building partnerships with our families and community so that they have a strong start to their teen and young adult lives.

Welcome students, parents, and all members of the community to the Jack C. Jordan Middle School, “About Us” page!

My name is Adrian Hysten, and I am the Assistant Principal for Jordan Middle School. I am a proud product of Northside ISD! I attended Raba Elementary, Jordan Middle School, and graduated from Warren High School in 2010. In 2015, I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University in Multidisciplinary Studies with a 4th-8th Math/Science education emphasis. From there, I continued my collegiate career by graduating from the University of Texas at San Antonio with my Master’s in Educational Leadership and K-12 Principal certification. I am the father to an awesome son who also attends a Northside elementary school.

This is my tenth year in education and all of my time has been at the middle school level. During my time, I’ve taught 6th Science in regular and collaborative classrooms and 7th/8th Grade Math in regular, collaborative, and accelerated classrooms.

I am blessed to work here and work with YOU. I look forward to growing and doing better together. Maya Angelou said it best, “Do the best you can until you know better, but once you know better, do better!” Together, let’s do better every day!
