Howdy! My name is Kristen Pena. I am part of the GT program here at Kallison Elementary. My role as a specialist is to provide services tailored for GT students within our program, utilizing a diverse range of curated curriculum. My role also includes enrichment, and academic support while also coordinating testing for our program within our Kallison community. I began teaching at Kallison as a classroom teacher with a passion for enrichment and rigor so I made the wonderful choice to move to this program. When I'm not working, I play the roles of a wife and mother to two girls. In my downtime, you'll likely catch me indulging in chips and queso or enjoying quality time with my family by the pool.

Howdy, y’all!
I’m Vanessa Sia, and I’ve proudly been part of the NISD family for over a decade! My teaching adventure began in kindergarten, where I got to be silly, creative, and soak up the joy that little learners bring every day. That passion for playful learning led me to second grade Mac-GT, where I dove deeper into the world of gifted and talented education. Soon after, I found myself guiding curious minds in first grade Mac-GT, continuing my journey with some truly remarkable GT students.
Friends and coworkers often describe me as upbeat, energetic, and easygoing—and I’ll happily claim all three! When I’m not in the classroom, you can catch me battling it out in video games, binge-watching anime and movies, or just goofing around with my favorite people: my awesome husband and our spirited daughter.
I’m beyond excited to be part of not just one, but two incredible schools, and I can’t wait to continue learning and growing alongside some truly fantastic students.
