Vaccinations

Northside ISD continues to enforce its “No Shots, No School” policy. Texas law requires all public school children have current immunizations in order to attend class.

Kirsten Velasquez, Krueger ES Principal
Kirsten Velasquez - Principal
Kirsten Velasquez graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree. She later earned her Elementary Administration Degree from Concordia University.

Mrs. Velasquez has been an educator for 26 years. She started her career as a Special Education teacher at Braun Station Elementary. While there, she continued to teach and lead her team as the Special Ed. Campus Coordinator.

In 2005 she helped open Dean H. Krueger Elementary as a Special Education Teacher and Special Ed. Coordinator. In the Spring of 2013, she transitioned to Vice Principal, and in the Summer of 2021, she transitioned to Principal.

Mrs. Kristina Diaz is honored to be the Associate Principal at Krueger Elementary.

She was born and raised in San Antonio and is a proud product of Northside. She attended Passmore Elementary, Anson Jones Middle school and graduated John Jay High School. Go Mustangs!

This is her 22nd year in education. She has taught in grades 3rd-5th at Oak Hills Terrace, Rhodes, and Murnin Elementary. Before becoming the Associate Principal at Krueger, she was the Associate Principal at Raba Elementary.

She obtained her BS in Interdisciplinary Studies for University of Houston-Clear Lake, a Master of Education Certification in Instructional Technology from Houston Baptist University and a Master of Education Certification in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from University of Texas San Antonio.

In 2005 she received the teacher HEB Excellence in Education Rising Star Award for San Antonio. She was also a State Finalist for the HEB Excellence in Education Rising Star Award for the State of Texas.

Her happy place watching the sunrise at the beach and spending time with her family.

Her vision is to create an environment where the expectation is that “every child, every day, in every classroom receives high quality, engaging instruction that increases their achievement and efficacy.
