Young Astronauts is an after-school science enrichment program geared towards fourth and fifth grade students. This year our focus is on astronauts at work! We will complete 8 missions with similarities to the work life of an astronaut. This will include research, designing patches and space suits, space walk challenges, details into their training schedules and life on the space station, and an “eggstronaut” parachute landing.
All lessons and activities are focused on building student interest and understanding in the area of space science. The program begins in December and goes through February, finishing with a special after school field trip for our fifth grade students in the program.
