Melissa Lopez-Brouse - Principal
My name is Melissa Lopez, I’m starting my 23rd year in education. This is my ninth year serving as the principal at Michael Elementary. I was a vice principal for six years. I was a reading specialist for five years and a teacher for three years.
I’m a NISD graduate and am proud to be working in this district. I have a bachelors in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from OLLU. I have a Masters in Reading from UTSA and a certification in administration from TAMUK.
My husband Jesse and I have 2 children who attend NISD schools. I enjoy reading, baking and playing with my dogs Haley and Sydney.

Amanda Fraser - Associate Principal

My name is Amanda Fraser. I am going on my 17th year in education. This is my 2nd year as the Associate Principal of Michael Elementary. Prior to joining the Michael family I was a 5th grade teacher at Franklin Elementary for two years. I served as their Team Leader and Science Facilitator. I started my educational journey at Northwest Crossing and then was honored to get to help open Murnin Elementary school. I have taught 3rd grade for 5 years, 4th grade for four years, and 5th grade for 6 years.
I have my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Clemson University. Go Tigers!! I also have my Masters of Education in Education Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas, San Antonio. Go Roadrunners!
On a personal note I love spending time with my family, particularly my 4 year old daughter. She is an extremely energetic little girl who loves to learn. She definitely keeps me on my toes. We also love spending time and playing with our dog, Stella.
