Mission Statement: Judge Andy Mireles Elementary is dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment with high expectations through teamwork. We will empower all to become lifelong learners who positively impact our community.

I am a wife and mother of two girls, who are my world. Currently, one of my daughters attends Mireles Elementary. I love to see her in the hallway, playground and learning in the classroom. I have high expectations for both of my daughters’ education, as I do for all of the students at JAM. The faculty and staff are truly a family with one goal, the growth of our students. Our Mission Statement is “Judge Andy Mireles Elementary is dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment with high expectations through teamwork. We will empower all to become lifelong learners who positively impact our community.” Each student may learn in different ways, but we strive to ensure all of our students can achieve their goals. I love coming to school every day to work alongside our faculty and staff for our amazing students!
We are the knights, conquering new heights!

It is my pleasure to serve you as Vice Principal at Judge Andy Mireles Elementary! My name is Latia Bishop, and this is my seventeenth year in education. Prior to becoming Vice Principal, I had many experiences including being a self-contained special education teacher, a collaborative/co-teach teacher, and a special education area coordinator all in Northside ISD. I am always a teacher at heart and taught for 10 years in Northside schools. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (Education) from Southwest Texas State University and a Master of Education in Integrating Technology into the classroom from Walden University. I hold certifications in elementary general education, special education (PK - 12), English as a Second Language (EC-12), Administration (EC-12), and Instructional Coaching.I am blessed to be a wife, mother of three wonderful humans, and 2 playful fur babies. They are the love of my life. I have the same expectations for them as I do our JAM students. I treat them like they are mine and push them to do their very best. I want to see our JAM students excel and become productive human beings, who have ample opportunity to become whoever they want to be when they grow up. My educational philosophy is based on uncompromising belief that all students can learn, given a positive learning environment, strong and knowledgeable leadership, a committed and focused educational team, encouraging community, and a supportive family. All of which, JAM possesses. This is why it is my privilege to assist in leading Judge Andy Mireles Elementary and the many talented teachers and students here!
