Mireles Strings is a program for beginning strings students in fifth grade to learn how to play the violin, viola or cello. The classes are taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00-7:45 am in the music room and on the stage. Students perform for the school in the front foyer during the winter holidays and at our Fall and Spring Fine Arts Showcases. The beginning string students also compete in our annual Mireles Solo and Ensemble Contest. Fifth graders who successfully complete the requirements of the program have the opportunity to move from Beginning Orchestra to Intermediate Orchestra at the middle school level.
